Australia has been given an unprecedented opportunity to deliver true justice and recognition to Australia's first people with the handing over of recommendations to Prime Minister Gillard by the Expert Panel on Constitutional Recognition of Indigenous Australians. Our Commission was officially launched by respected elder, the late Hazel McKellar in 2002. From this time we have worked to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people in the Diocese. Some of the ways that we do this are through:
